school district 73 kamloops logoThe Kamloops and area district (SD&73) covers more than 27,000 kilometres and busses about 4,000 students more than 9,000 kilometres every day. There are 32 elementary schools, one middle school, 10 secondary schools, one Kindergarten-to-Grade 12 school, two alternate education programs, and one distance education school.

The school board serves the city of Kamloops and the communities of Chase, Barriere, Clearwater, Logan Lake, Blue River, Brennan Creek, Heffley Creek, Pinantan Lake, Savona, Vavenby, and Westwold.

We have provided information for elementary schools and the homes for sale in those catchments areas. Catchment areas and boundaries are subject to change so it is important to confirm you have the correct catchment area with School District #73.




Kindergarten Registration

Registration is now open for Schools of Choice

From Jan. 25 at 9:00 AM, until 12:00 PM on Feb. 5, 2021.

  • Please register anytime during this period.
  • If you are unable to register on-line please contact your neighbourhood school directly for a 15 minute in-person appointment from Jan. 25 to Feb. 5, 2021, 9 AM to 12 PM,  and 1 PM to 3 PM, but only until noon on Feb. 5.
  • Due to COVID-19 drop-in visits to schools are discouraged. School visitor safety protocols can be found here.
  • This registration is NOT first come, first served. If there are more children registered than there are seats at the School of Choice, a random draw will be held.
  • Parents will receive notification directly from the School of  Choice between Tuesday, Feb. 9 and Friday, Feb. 12,  2021.

How to register for Schools of Choice:

Registration must be completed for each School of Choice you are considering.

  1. Download the Student Enrolment Form. Read it carefully before starting, make sure you have all the information required.
    Complete the form and then save it to your computer.

  2. Locate copies of:
    • Child’s original birth certificate
    • BC services card (front and back)
    • Proof of current address (within 2 months). This could be a household bill such as Hydro or Fortis.
    • Legal documentation concerning custody (if applicable).
  3. Check the catchment area for French Immersion schools.

  4. Complete registration by noon, February 5, 2021 to be considered.
