Westsyde is a residential neighbourhood located 15 minutes north of downtown Kamloops along the west bank of the North Thompson River. Westsyde is a large area and reaches far past the Dunes Golf Course, a beautiful golf course set on the river’s edge carved out of the sands of the Thompson river riverbed. The course is 18 holes and 7131 yards of challenging golf.

Residents can enjoy the Westsyde Recreation Center and community pool which boasts a 25 meter pool with 6 lanes, diving board and hot tub. This facility also includes a gym.

Recreational areas surround Westsyde. Areas for hiking, dirt biking, 4 wheeling and other outdoor activities are close by.

Westsyde has a couple of smaller local restaurants and a pub, a Save-On-Foods, Home Hardware, BC liquor store, Dollarama, pharmacy and professional offices. Residents can do their shopping in North Kamloops which is a 10-minute drive.

Westsyde Schools

Elementary students attend Westsyde Elementary, David Thompson Elementary or Arthur Stevenson Elementary. Secondary students attend Westsyde Secondary. There is also a private Francophone French Immersion school called Ecole Collins D’Or in the Oak Hills area of Westsyde.
