Knutsford is a very small rural community located 7 km (4 mi) south of Kamloops on Highway 5A. Taking a drive around the Knutsford area will delight photographers with stunning grassland landscapes and in the autumn, colourful foliage. Knutsford is located at a higher elevation than Kamloops city centre and as such gets more snow in the winter and cooler temperatures in the summer.

Many of these properties are on septic systems and for water, they are either on a drilled well or have water delivered.
